Fastweb – You Are the Future is an ambitious interactive museum installation developed for Fastweb, one of Italy’s leading telecommunications companies. Conceived in collaboration with Clonwerk, the project transformed complex datasets into immersive real-time visual experiences, turning abstract information into vibrant, interactive stories. All visualizations and animations were designed and implemented in Unity3D, leveraging advanced graphics and performance-optimized techniques to ensure seamless interaction and fluidity at scale.
Interactive Data Visualization
At the heart of the installation was a massive data-visualization wall that connected directly with visitors’ mobile devices. By sending messages and inputs, visitors could manipulate and interact with the visual data in real time, creating a personalized and engaging exploration of Fastweb’s technological universe. Advanced Real-Time Graphics
The project required the development of highly dynamic particle systems and custom compute-shader-based physics to generate millions of particles responding instantly to user interactions. Each particle movement represented data points and connections, visualizing Fastweb’s network, services, and digital footprint in a way that was both scientifically accurate and visually compelling.
Performance and Optimization
Great effort went into achieving maximum performance across large displays and multi-user interactions. Compute shaders were meticulously tuned to handle massive data throughput without sacrificing frame rate or fidelity.
